Wedding | A Ceremony by the Sea | Peter & Sandi | Walking Down the Aisle - Right to the Reception | Belfast, Maine

And we are back for part two of Peter & Sandi's beautiful bay side wedding at the Wentworth Event Center.

I mean really - can you beat that view?

Right out on the lawn, the sun is shining - really. I mean really!

Peter heads down to the front.

And once the glorious wedding party makes their entrance, the beautiful Sandi is escorted by her two wonderful children!

It was such a nice ceremony, with some great personal details!

Peter & Sandi's family spoke about the great couple.

Each one of the twins had a part in the ceremony!

I love when a couple reads their own vows.

Annnnnnd finally they are united with a kiss! Could there be anything better?

We got the opportunity to photograph this great couple with their extended family before we broke away for our one on one time. And it was such a beautiful session we had!

Just look at how she looks at him.

Really - it's a wonderful thing.

Um Spokes models for the Wentworth? I think so!

Peter can always make Sandi laugh.

And laugh out loud.

A true love laugh.

And we move inside for the reception!

And kick it right off with the first dance!

Everytime you look at this couple they are smiling at each other.

Cutting the cake was no exception!

What's going to happen????

They didn't smash - they really are a wonderful couple!

I really can't describe how great it is to photograph a couple that is clearly in love - they make each other smile and laugh all the time. It was great to be around them.

Think back - long and hard.

To a first look blog that happened many moons ago!

Think back to the beginning of Hurricane Season actually - when good ol' boy Hurricane Earle threatened the Maine coastline. Well he was all hot air! He passed through the evening before this wonderful wedding and Brandi and I couldn't of been happier - why? Cause we got an outside wedding ceremony!! We LOVE the outside ceremonies!!

And when the ceremony is held on the beautiful waterfront of the Wentworth Event Center, why wouldn't you love outside ceremonies.

Just look at that view!

No Detail inside or out was overlooked. Peter & Sandi spend many hours on the details of this wedding and it showed. It showed a lot!!

As usual, Brandi is left with the beautiful bride and gets some great detail shots of her beautiful dress...

Loving the purple accent!

OH LOOK! It matches the purple shoes!! HELLO!!!!!!!!

Just like I said - every single detail was thought of!

Inside the Wentworth there is a great nautical theme that carries through the entire event center. Sandi & Peter took that to the next level in their decorating, and of course, that gave Brandi and I plenty of details to play with, and who wouldn't want to play with these details?

You know we love the rings. There are more ring shots coming, we promise!

What? Cake? Ryan never takes photos of cakes!

Yah right! I love the cake shots!!

These totally have to be some of my favorite ring shots ever. I saw the Starfish and immediately knew they needed to be paired with some rings!

Now - this fantastic couple, gave Brandi and I a fantastic opportunity.

I may of even giggled when they suggested it because I was so excited. If I didn't giggle on the outside, I defiantly was on it INSIDE!!

They wanted to do a first look. A real first look.

I think the first look is finally catching on in Maine. It was a long time coming, but I think it's finally here. For anyone who does not know, the first look is when Brandi and I take you and your groom to be away from the ceremony site and you see each other before the ceremony. It's not bad luck. It's not bad karma, its AWESOME!

Well Peter & Sandi knew they wanted to spend extra time with their families at the reception, so they wanted to do the first look - and they wanted to do it at beautiful Moose Point State Park!

HELLO!

Waiiiiiiiit for it.

SURPRISE!

Well surprise wasn't the right word. The surprise would of been if Peter turned around and I was standing there. But it was Sandi, and I love the look on their faces. Pure love.

There it is again, pure love.

I'm love love loving this first look!

Yah think this would make a good canvas print? I do!

Ryan & Brandi | On Family & Pets & Life in General

So typically we make it a rule to only post one blog per day. Today is the day we make an exception to that rule. Brand and I want to get in front of our clients & friends and just let everyone know what has been going on.

Yes - we are behind on a lot of things.

Brandi is behind on her farmville farming

We are behind on Blogging

And editing

Some bills may have been neglected

Our day jobs have been neglected

E-mails may have been answered a little later than we normally do.

But we have had a good reason - when your family is sick, all other things become less important.

No, Brandi and I have been very healthy, but the member of our family who has been sick is poor Jonah. I now understand the stress and anxiety and the sleepless nights that many of our friends who are blessed with people children now feel. It stinks. A Lot! You feel helpless and guilty - you're worried and scared and just looking for answers from people you want to trust. You cry and pray that everything is going to be ok. In my case you lie in bed all day just worrying yourself sick over whether or not your child will be ok.

You always want to do what you think is best.

But in the end - you also need to follow your gut. Your instincts, what you feel is the right thing to do.

Brandi and I had to make some tough choices this week as we took two steps back in Jonah's recovery - and after all the praying and worrying - we made the right choice. We followed our guts - got a second opinion - and a warm friendly smile and the clouds parted and the sun shined on our little Jonah man.

Let me back up a little - so Mr. Jonah is an old man in dog years - but we know he still has a lot of living left to do. I am going to spare you all the gory details of his episodes, but needless to say he had us some worried for a long time. Just as we thought he was on the mend, poor Jonah took two steps back and got even sicker. Brandi and I had to make a choice - do we go through with the next steps of slicing and dicing a pet that we have loved and been part of our lives together for the last 5 years, or do we trust our guts and look at other options?

With the help of a great friend and support of everyone we love we went with our guts - and long story short - our little man is fine. We are getting him back on his feet and back to his bright eyed waggly tail self.

So I said all of that - to say this:

We are behind. But we have not forgotten you - our clients and friends.

We are back in the office working on your photos and working on our business and the new vision we have for our business. Over the next couple of weeks, prepare yourself for a lot more blogs - a brand new look and a brand new lease on life for Brandi & I & Jonah.

So if we owe you a first look - it's coming.

If we owe you proofs - they'll be in the mail soon.

If you are waiting patiently to see your wedding photos - you are at the top of the list.

If we owe you a blog series - they are bubbling up in my head right now.

It is all coming.

We are getting back on track.

And thank you for sticking by us through all of this.

I know - I know - it has been a while since we have done anything on the blog - especially a first look.

And this one is LOOOOOONG over due.

This blog also hopefully starts the new tradition of the fall.

Portrait Sessions - Studio & Location in my hometown - Millinocket.

Cause that's where we traveled to get these great shots!!

Yes - I think we will be packing up the studio and making the trip up there again next year for a weekend full of photographs and fun!

So - everyone up there - start thinking about next year!

Anyway - we met with a great family and a great Senior that weekend - and it is our pleasure to introduce you to them!!

And, we got up early to spend the morning with this wonderful gentleman - in an Awesome location!!

It seems like forever since we have posted a blog.

There have been so many things going on - working on a new image, new website, new everything.

Plus catching up from the fantastic season we had.

Plus still holding sessions - in studio and even outside still.

So, I was hoping that the next blog since our business update blog would be on our NEW blog - but we are still working on it and working through some communication issues ----- yah... we'll leave it at that.

BUT when it's done, its going to be wonderful.

Speaking of WONDERFUL - we love sharing WONDERFUL couples who are ENGAGED and hired us for their wedding in 2011.

That is just what Josh & Heather did.

So if you remember from the first look (a long time ago) we met them at a family camp, and got to see and share what made that special to them.

They are such a great couple. And FUN!

Business Updates | Exciting NEWS!!

Brandi and I have some exciting News to share -

We just received our new Blog today and are working to get it set up and running.

What this means:

This blog will eventually not get updated

Our Current Website will be moved to the Blog - so you will just go to http://www.rjmoorephotography.com/ for all the updates you need.

During the transition - e-mail may be a problem - so I have set up a new e-mail account that is pointed away from the Servers we are switching up. If you need to contact us, please try the regular e-mail, but to be safe, I would also send an e-mail to ryanjmoorephotography@gmail.com Just to be safe!!

This also means that we will no longer be hosting client galleries on the website. We have switched to a new hosting company. If you would still like to have your gallery online - send us an e-mail and we will switch your gallery to our new company for 6 months.

Keep watching the Blog and Facebook for the official update of everything new. This also means that once everything is up an running, we are moving forward with our new Brand!!!

We are on our way to the land.

The wedding reception was held under a tent - on a plot of land that has been cleared for her parent's home.

It was such a beautiful spot - and really made a fantastic spot for the reception for this great family.

I hadn't thought much of it - but as we were packing to leave, I head Katie say to Natalie - get ready - we are going out to "The Land".

So there you have it - a Wedding on the Land.

Love it!

And yes, that's where they are headed.

So the MOH had not intended to give a speech at the wedding.

Last minute, she decided to.

You can't beat a great speech written on the cocktail napkins!!

We got Natalie in her dress - now it was time for Katie to get into her dress. With the help of her mother's.

While Brandi was at the Church getting all the awesome shots of Katie getting ready - I headed right down the street to where Danny was already dressed and waiting for my arrival. And his entire wedding party was with him. We did a few quick shots with him and the guys before I headed back up to the Church for the final details!

What is better on a cold rainy Maine evening?

Remember the details of a wicked cool wedding - yah, I think so.

I just loved this family - they were really so much fun!!

I am so glad we finally get to share the wedding with you - as always lets start right out with some mighty fine details!! OH YAH! (that's right, like the cool aid man!)

LOVE the signs - and let me tell you, they were some helpful!

And of course there was a beautiful dress to go along with this handsome suit!

And then we move to the RECEPTION site - this is where all the fun happens!!

You know I am a SUCKER for mason jars.

Seriously - I am in love with the water bottles even. Yah, cause I am THAT cool.

ANNNNNNNNND for those of you with a tolerance a bit higher than mine - how about a bucket of two buck chuck. That's really what it is - and I just like saying it!

And what is not to love about a great game of horseshoes?

Um nothing.

Especially if you can use the horseshoes for an AWESOME ring shot!

Brandi wasted no time grabbing those shoes!

Dyllan really was a great sport through all his sessions - yes, this was his second - you saw his studio session earlier this season - and he rocked it there too!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Monday.

We are recovering after quite a weekend - not only with our - soon to be annual Millinocket Portrait Session weekend, but also with a reminder that no matter what your family is - family is important.

This blog is a great reminder that family is what matters - and I thank everything that our family is alright.

We had a bit of a scare this weekend with our old boy Jonah - for those of you who don't know - he's the dog :).

Well Jonah's old body wasn't being that great to him, and it was giving us quite a scare.

But after some great news today - a couple weeks of some antibiotics and he should be good as new. I just thank my lucky stars that he gets to breathe his dog breath smile on me for a little while longer.

So - back to this family. When Dave & Katie's sister in law wanted to give them the gift of photography, we were so glad they came to us. We love them all - and were happy to photograph them not long after Mr. Evan's first birthday!

So - enough with the chatter right? Get on with the pictures!

We do more than weddings!!

We just capped off our weekend with our final wedding of the season yesterday, and what a season it was!!

So, the ceremony has ended. The guests and the family have moved into the Overlook for a little cocktail hour and now it's just Denise, Jon, Brandi and I --- time to have some fun - right?

I think I can speak for all photographers - every photographer has an event venue that THEY want to photograph at.

And mine was the Lucerne Inn.

You think Lucerene and you automatically think WEDDING!

So here we are, at the wedding of Jon and Denise - and it was just as wonderful as any Lucerne Inn wedding could be!!

Welcome to part two of Jon & Denise's Lucerne Inn Wedding.

Denise & Jon had their reception at the Overlook right at the Lucerne - they rented the whole place.

And we had some fun with them getting ready.

This was a big pleasure for me especially.

I don't usually get to photograph anyone getting ready. Brandi spends the time with the ladies, while I go spend some quality time with the gentleman. Only the gentlemen are dressed before I get there!!

Well since Jon & Denise were right in the same building - right down the hall in fact from each other, so Brandi and I were able to bounce back and forth between their rooms.

It was AWESOME.

I would do it again in a second.

Brandi and I also had to play lookout for them as well since they did not want to see each other before the wedding. So we were always peeking around the corner to see if anyone was coming before the door got completely open!!

Denise had the wonderful and talented Jenn Ryan come right to the room and do her makeup for her there.

I may have mentioned this before, but Denise was a beautiful bride!

Finally, we shine the shoes, and put them on. Ready to walk down the isle to meet his bride.

And Miss Denise - slips into those wicked cute shoes getting ready to meet her man, and become Mrs. Norris.

We hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend.

We sure did.

But now we are back to blogging and it's time to share another fantastic wedding series with you out there in blog land.

Are you ready for a party on Friday night?

Cause I am not partying!

Just sitting here, listening to the rain beat down on the house, while I try to catch up on the weddings that are staring me in the face!

But there is always time for a blog.

This one is happy and sad, like most of the last of a series blogs.

That's right, it's time to view the awesome Reception of Adrian & Heather.

They had their reception at the beautiful Belfast Boathouse. One of the top places that we love to photograph!

Um check out the Chinese lanterns! Love them!! Totally awesome!

And why not start with a little dancing!

All that practice on the bridge made it worth it.

And yes, more to come, but that is a live band in the background!!

We move right into dancing with Dad.

To start off - I apologize for getting a blog post out so late.

Hopefully you all enjoy a nice wake up blog!

ANYWAY - as the ceremony ends, we always look forward to a little time with our wonderful couples and their bridal party. They usually take place directly after the ceremony, and we love it even more when its a nice day and we can go outside. Like with did with Heather & Adrian

Right outside that beautiful Church.

Just love this Church.

More of that theme I have been talking about!

Now, let me tell you about our real favorite part.

For every wedding, we ask our couples to spend some time alone with us right before the reception.

And we mean alone.

Just the four of us.

Uncle Joe with his disposable camera is not welcome.

Mom and Dad - please go to the reception.

Just us and the Bride and Groom.

Heather & Adrian took this request to heart - we had a WONDERFUL session with them.

Sometimes we just scope out a spot by the Church - not them - we piled in our vehicles and went to the footbridge in Belfast. Brandi and I love the footbridge. If you follow the blog - I am sure you have seen several sessions there!

So this is what we ended up with from our session.

I think it Rocks!!

But I may be biased!

We could not of asked for a more perfect day.

We try to give our couples as little direction as possible.

Just like every blog post about a wedding should - they all build upon the other.

Yesterday you saw Adrian & his groomsmen walk into the church, now we have Heather getting ready to come down the isle with her father.

To a smiling, waiting Adrian!

Now as I mentioned before, this Church is BEAUTIFUL.

Stunning.

Breath taking.

Like literally took my breath away.

Almost as much as Heather being escorted down the isle.

That smile, again.

Wow.

A fave.

I have to admit - come clean - and all that jazz.

When I first drove by this Church, I had to do a double take.

I thought it was going to be way to small.

I pictured myself not moving.

Stuck in one spot.

But surprisingly it wasn't - I was free to move about the cabin as they say - but still, a beautiful Church.

The great thing you get with Brandi & I is the luxury of two photographers.

Brandi stays with the ladies and I go and meet the gentlemen. Which is exactly what we did with Heather & Adrian. Heather rented a house right across the street from the beautiful church they would be married in. It made it very convenient to get to the church on time!

She was a stunning bride.

I mean stunning.

Before we get to the guys, let me share something.

Two days before the wedding, we finally met Heather & Adrian.

This is COMPLETELY out of the ordinary for us.

Usually we meet with a couple 2-3 times before the wedding, we like to get to know then - understand them, and make sure we know exactly what they want from us before we show up for the ceremony.

So let's back up even further. We found Adrian & Heather through a referral from a friend who does not cover weddings - we love covering weddings so of course we contacted them.

We tried to set up a meeting with them.

Mentioned that we would be attending a bridal show and would love them to come.

They declined.

Because they live in CHINA!

Not China Maine - CHINA CHINA!

So all the correspondence we had between Heather & Adrian was over e-mail, and we finally met them two days before the wedding, and you would of thought we were talking with old friends!

We love our clients!

Turns out, they grew up in the Belfast area and are on assignment for work in China. I couldn't resist asking them 100's of questions about it. After that first meeting two days before the wedding, I couldn't wait for the wedding day. And it did not disappoint! It never does :)

Anyway - while Brandi was with the ladies, I met the gentlemen at the Alden House where they spent the night before.

Another great thing about this wedding - which was a first for us - I got to get some shots of Adrian getting ready! LOVE IT!

So, they were pretty much up for anything.

Yes, that is Adrian on the swing.

And I didn't even ask him to!

It was alllll the groomsmen!

After we left the Alden house, we hit the Belfast waterfront.

Where they would be getting married.

This building is my FAVORITE building on the Belfast Waterfront.

It smells like dead fish, but it ROCKS.

For real!

Low tide allowed us to get down in front of the boathouse.

So, we left the waterfront, and went downtown Belfast.

Love this shot!

And of course the bikes were out.

So we had to take a turn on the bikes.

This group was amazing.

Of all people I was the time keeper! I knew I had to get them back to the church at a certain time, and every time I would mention it I would get - one more, just one more, over here - get this shot!

LOVE IT!

Just in the nick of time, I was able to get them in the church, down the isle to wait for the beautiful Heather.

Living on the coast - or near the coast has it's advantages

The big one for us - everyone wants to get married on the coast.

So - it is with great pleasure that we are finally posting Adrian and Heather's wedding.

Now this wedding had a theme. A mini theme at least.

I am not going to come right out and tell you - I think it's pretty apparent.

But I am not quite going to tell you the reason behind it either.

Ok, now that we got that out there - lets meet Meranda

We ended up doing a two part shoot with her when she visited us.

She stopped into the studio to start her session and by the end of the studio shoot, it was raining too hard to go outside. So we moved that session to another day!

But she rocked the studio.

It still hasn't recovered.

I love the way she worked the chair!

Before we get into the goodness that is this first look I wanted to take a moment and just recognize that this is post 301.

Which mean Mr. Evan yesterday was post 300.

We are so happy to see this blog grow, expand and become more and more what we want it to be.

More and more friends commenting every day (yes, we consider each and every one of you friends).

We love that you come back to us week after week and day after day to see whats up with two crazy kids in Bucksport.

First Look: Class of 2011 | Senior Model Dyllan | The Official Shoot

I took a break from editing tonight to upload a quick first look.

Brandi and I did not have a wedding this weekend, but we had enough shoots to keep us busy!

The trouble was deciding which first look to post first.

In order to be fair - I am just posting them in order - over the next three days :)

Up first is Dyllan our Senior Model for the Class of 2011 out of Mt. View.

You saw his studio shoot here.

And he rocked it out on the Belfast waterfront too.

We detoured a bit from the water and in pure Alison Douglass Photography style - we took off in search of some grungy dirty old abandoned buildings.

And we found some. Course since they use to be fish canneries and such, they smelled like dead fish, but what can you do really?

Anyway - here is the first shot of many to come from our good friend Dyllan.

Meranda visited our studio, and then wanted to hit the great outdoors.

I got distracted by Survivor tonight - and that put me behind again.

I couldn't go to bed without FINALLY posting a first look at this past weekend's wedding.

My Goodness.

It was BEAUTIFUL.

I have said it before and I say it again - a simple wedding, in a beautiful location is just perfect!

Dan & Shawna - thank you for inviting Brandi and I out to this beautiful location to capture this perfect day with you both. I can't wait to finish this wedding.

Wedding | Marbin & Whitney | Orrington Maine | Catch a Falling Star --- at the RECEPTION

I know, I know - punish us.

We have been blog slackers.

Big time.

There is a lot to catch up on! Like a lot.

First off - let's start off the week, and finish off Whitney & Marbin's fantastic wedding with the RECEPTION.

Boogie-on-down and all that stuff.

Held at the fabulous Jeff's Catering.

I gotta say - the DJ was quite the entertainer.

To kick the evening off - he gave Whitney a bowl - and made the announcement that she was no longer on the market, and that anyone who had a key to her apartment should bring it up and put it in the bowl.

Many showed up.

The bowl was passed to Marbin - and the same announcement was made.

And a key returned.

It was all in good fun of course! I'm pretty sure they were fake keys!

A beautiful toast!

Kicking off the first dance.

And the dance that always makes me cry.

Father Daughter dance.

Which ended with Whitney's father inviting up his new son in law to finish out the dance with his new wife.

More tears.

I don't have to say it.

For everyone else...

Whitney's dad takes the mic again - calls Whitney up to the dance floor to have her perform a dance, she use to do as a little girl.

And we stop again.

For the shoe game.

I love the shoe game.

SO - again, if you were not at the reception, you might not know the shoe game, but anyway - the DJ asks you both a question - such as "who takes out the garbage?"

You are to raise the shoe of the person who takes out the garbage.

So if Brandi and I were playing the shoe game and the question was asked "who takes out the garbage?" We would both raise Brandi's shoe.

Fun game right.

If the question was "who vacuums the house?", we would both raise my shoe!

Yah, I love this game.

And the party continues.

Don't know who drew this.

But it's true.

Your wedding was RAWESOME!!

Wedding | Marbin & Whitney | Orrington Maine | Picture Perfect

Once the ceremony is over, it's great to finally spend some one on one time with the couple and the bridal party. Just to give everyone a glimpse into our method of after ceremony portraits ---

We always try to start out with the biggest family portrait possible.

Then we break it down to immediate family - mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers.

Once we are done with them - unless they are in the wedding party, we send them off to the reception site. So now we are left with the Bride & Grooms and the wedding party. We cover these shots next - we do the traditional shots and some fun shots. Once that is over, we send the bridal party away - usually to the limo, or another room in the church. This leaves us with the bride and groom. We always promote this time to our couple when we meet with them. We feel this time alone just the four of us, gives the couple a little time to take a deep breath - think we are married, we love each other, this is great. No one else is around, we try not to get in their face or be too pose-y - we just ask for a little time alone with them.

Then we are off and running to the reception!

So, we did just that with Whitney and Marbin.

And here is what we got!

Ok, so we veered a little. While people were getting organized, we got a couple with just Whitney and Marbin. Sometimes its nice to pose them so Uncle Joe and Aunt Millie can get some good shots too!

I love the bridesmaids in this shot set up by Brandi.

And now comes the time with just us and Whitney and Marbin.

One of my favorite things about this session is when the couple comes up with something on their own.

Whitney came up with this idea to put the veil over her and Marbin.

I think it's a great series!

A quick set up by us, and we just watched what unfolded!

This is one of my favorite series too!

I particularly love it when the other people we work with get into the pictures as well. Brandi and I were heading to the truck to head off to the reception site, and we hear someone hollering to us. It was the limo driver. He had a just married magnet custom fit for the limo - and we got the shot of them putting it on!

We are going to get this party started very soon!!

Our Weekend Adventures | Beth's Farm Stand | Blue Hill Fair

We hope that everyone has enjoyed the long WONDERFUL weekend!

Three and a half days off from the day job has been great!

To celebrate, we took some day trips to some great places, and places we have not been for a while.

Friday afternoon we took a trip down to Union to Beth's Farm Stand. They have AMAZING produce!!

We always leave there with BAGS full.

And I have to tell you the corn.

OMG

Like OMG - so good!!

Everything is seasonal, and grown locally.

I love the bright colors!

It was these pumpkins that inspired me to take out the camers.

So, we had a break from the day trips on Satirday with a wonderful wedding at the Wentworth.

Then Sunday it was BACK TO BACK fair days.

I love the Blue Hill Fair

Bright colors. Fair Food.

YUM!

I have an obsession with the ferris wheel...but have never ridden on one.

Probably never will!

Again, the bright colors always get me.

Brandi has a different appreciation of the fairs.

Honestly, before I met Brandi, I had never been to a fair.

Brandi use to hit ALL the fairs, showing cows.

Ryan - never got close to cows.

Brandi has no problems mucking stalls, caring for animals, taking them for a little walk around the fair.

Ryan - gets cow sneeze on him everytime he gets close to one.

Brandi is all about the fair.

Ryan is learning more and more about fair life, and loving it.

Case in point - I ate lunch not 12 inches from a cows butt today.

And I love the look of horses.

But - I am allergic.

And still sneezing.

It was SOOOOO worth it though.

It was so nice to spend some time with family at the fair. See friends that we only see once a year.

Eat so much fair food only elastic waist pants fit anymore.

First Look: Wedding | A Ceremony by the Sea | Peter & Sandi | Belfast, Maine

Hurricane Schmurricane

I have to tell you, all of us were praying that the weather was going to cooperate.

And boy did it ever.

With the threat of Hurricane Earl hitting the Maine coast Friday night into Saturday night, there was a little uncertainty on where this wedding was taking place.

Well, we always knew it was taking place at the fantastic Wentworth Event Center in Beautiful Belfast, but we didn't know if it was going to be held outside ---- or inside.

And the sun came out around 11 here in Bucksport, and everything was dry and beautiful for the wedding of Peter & Sandi, and we were all so happy to share in their day!!

Love the genuine smiles on these two!!

I couldn't end this blog without sharing a shot of the wonderful Wentworth for our good friend Kristine.

Brandi and I are off with my mother today for the BLUE HILL FAIR!!!

We never miss it, and this year the weather is PERFECT for the fair.

Can't wait!

Wedding | Marbin & Whitney | Orrington Maine | Dad's Church

Again, I know, I am a lot behind in the blogging.

BUT the weather has cooled off, there is a beautiful breeze today - LET THE BLOGGING COMMENCE!

Whitney & Marbin - bring on the ceremony!

The limo pulled up to the back door of the church, upstairs Marbin waited for his bride.

Upstairs in the church were Whitney's father is the pastor.

This is going to be a great ceremony!

We start lighting the candles.

The moms and the unity candle!

Here she comes!

Whitney's mom watches her come down the isle.

Yes! A tear!

I love emotional weddings.

He sees her for the first time.

So, you remember I said this was her father's church.

It is.

But how does he walk her down the isle and perform the ceremony?

Does he perform the ceremony?

Maybe?

YUP!

Changed right on the alter.

Presto Change-o - Dad marries them!

I had every intention of beginning this great wedding yesterday.

But, if you follow us on facebook you will know I declared yesterday it was too hot to blog!

Yes. For Real.

In Maine.

We are having a heat wave - not a tropical one either!

Anyway enough about that. Onto the details!

I love it when we make it to the reception early enough to catch the place cards. I am loving the softness of them!

Which goes very well with the bright colors in the flowers.

Ahhhh flowers on the piano. We have been very fortunate to have two weddings back to that have had a piano to play with. But alas.... I don't play the piano - BUT it makes a fancy photo!

I have been trying to catch the groom (or the groomsmen) at some point in the evening to capture the tie shot. I have always wanted to just have a collection of tie shots. Much like this one.

It could be because I have quite the tie collection myself.... maybe a little obsessed, but yah know!

Now we get into some more fun stuff.

There was a subtle golf theme to this wedding.

First Look: Wedding | A Wedding on the Land | Danny & Katie | Washington & Montville Maine

It wouldn't be a Sunday evening without a First Look at the wonderful wedding Brandi & I photographed this weekend!

Saturday was beautiful - and HOT.

It was another gorgeous weekend in Maine, and why not have a wedding with an outdoor reception!

On the Land.

Loving the signs that direct guests from the ceremony to the reception. And coming from two people who often get lost - even with directions - the signs were a BIG help!

As much as I wanted to - I couldn't just show you the sign (even though I love it, right down to the painted heart). I needed to post a great pic of our awesome couple!

I truly can not wait to show you the AWESOME reception.

It was an all night party I am sure!

Class of 2011 | A Beautiful Ballerina | Mikele

I was thinking back, many moons ago when I posted the first look of Mikele I used the same title "A Beautiful Ballerina" and the first thing Brandi said to me was "you should of used this photo because that way it would go with the title more." Yup, she was probably right, but I had a title and and I ha a picture I wanted to use. So there!

Mikele is a ballerina

With a killer smile.

A Brady fan.

A dog lover.

And just an all around AWESOME girl!

Like awesome!

No Really - AWESOME.

And smile.

Yah, smile.

There were not fake smiles here.

We couldn't take a serious picture - they just didn't look right.

Smiling is so much better!

It was so awesome to have another member of the Class of 2011 in the studio.

It is always such an honor for a senior to choose US for their senior portraits.

Let's face it, there are A LOT of studios out there.

Thank you again Mikele for choosing us.

After the awesome time in the studio we moved to one of our favorite shooting locations where the light was amazing, and that smile just continued!

Ok, so I was wrong. We got a serious pose. And she looks beautiful even without a smile.

Yup, uh-huh. She's awesome.
