Day 57 & 58 ------------------------------- Finally got the picture I wanted

Day 57 - Today's picture is another urban-ish picture of the same playground actually. I really like the combination of the drug free zone sign and the playground in the background. Let me know what you think. Day 58 - I have been looking for this picture for quite a long time. If you have been following the blog you know that I am quite fond of setting the camera on the ground and taking the picture. Well today I set my camera on the train tracks. I love it. I am actually posting 2 train pictures because I love them both, but do like the one with the train cars a little bit more, so that became today's picture. But the other one, I love the spike sticking up. I donno, they are weird urban pictures, but I think they are great. Let me know what you think.
This is the one that is not part of the project but I wanted to share it anyway!

Day 52, 53, 54, 55 ------------------------- All you strangers out there leave me a comment!

Day 52 - Ok funny story about this picture. We had returned from vacation the day before, and I spent the entire day editing pictures on day 52 and forgot to take a picture for the day. So I went to bed at like 10pm, and after I was done watching TV it was 11:00 and I realised I hadn't taken a picture for the day, so I tried to talk myself into cheating and just take 2 pictures the next day, but I felt SOOOO much guilt that I had to get up and take the picture I wanted too. Anyway - this picture is of our new lens! YAY! I love new lenses, this one is a Nikon 18-135mm and I LOVE IT, its perfect. I love that I can go down to 18mm and its very close to fisheye, which is on my list to buy. Its going to be the perfect portrait lens. The reason I bought this was because I wanted Brandi to have another lens to photograph weddings, and I think she is really going to love it when I actually take it off my camera and let her use it. HEHE Day 53 - I love socks, especially fun brightly colored socks. Previously with my old company before the current company bought us I had to wear a tie everyday so I always had something fun to wear. Well I don't have to wear a tie anymore, so one day I decided that I needed to spice things up and wear cool socks, and these are the red skull socks that I had on for day 53 - LOVE THEM.
Day 54 - This is the neighbor's house. I took a picture on the way by on my morning walk. I don't know who owns this house or who lived here, but no one has been living in it for quite a while. We have often dreamt of buying this house! :)
Day 55 - I am all caught up with pictures! Today's picture is very urban. I have been looking at a lot of engagement pictures that other photographers have taken in some of the Myspace groups I belong too, and the theme seems to be very urban pictures, so that was my inspiration for today. It also amazes me still that I can find a different picture each day during my walk because I pretty much watch the same route every day. Anyway I hope you enjoy. I will try to be better about posting every day again.
On a Final note - LEAVE ME A COMMENT ON ANYTHING. If you read my blog, LEAVE ME A COMMENT, let me know you are here, let me know what you think. I want to hear from you. If you leave me a comment I will leave you a comment.

Day 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 ----------------- Yup - back from vacation!

We're back, and we're sunburned! We had an amazing time at my parents place this past week, we could not of asked for any better weather, we stayed busy all week and it was just wonderful. I honestly felt like I was back on summer vacation back when I was in high school. All I had to do was be on vacation, I didn't worry about work or school or the business. It was great. We also got to spend some great time with my family. It was just amazing, I am so pleased with our vacation. And now its time to share some photos with everyone!

Day 46 - We went on a few moose runs this past week, and we never saw a moose up close to photograph. We did see a snapping turtle though! That is what welcomed us to the great north woods!

Day 47 - This was another Moose adventure, and instead of seeing a moose we saw a beautiful sunset! I am so excited about this one. There was a fog on the river and the sky was perfect, the only thing I would wish for was that this sunset was behind the mountain instead of beside it!

Day 48 - We had a fun day today. My mother bought herself a kayak and then we rented another one so Brandi and I could take them out on the lake while we were at my parents. This was much better then the last time we rented kayaks. Last time we rented a double kayak and I made the mistake of sitting in the front and Brandi was in the back. I did most of the paddling and Brandi sat back and relaxed and I didn't know. That didn't happen this year!Day 49 - How could we not have a vacation with out Jonah? He was so good the whole week, he stayed right around the house (for the most part). He was good with the girls all weekend and he was just soaking up the sun and the love. Day 50 - Today we took a ride to Baxter State Park and took a small hike. It was only 1.6 miles up to Katahdin Falls and then the same back. It was a hard hike though, I was defiantly winded. It was beautiful. We climbed to the top of the falls and sat on the rocks and soaked up the cool breeze. I have been there a couple times and this was Brandi's first time, she had a great time and so did I.

Day 51 - This was my 4th of July picture. This is what I think of when I think of summer. Don't mind my feet, I had an obsession with photographing them this weekend. Anyway it was beautiful out today, and I wanted to share with you the view from my parents. I woke up to this view for years and miss it everyday. AHHHH Summer!

Day 52 - I told you I had an obsession with my feet. Anyway the one above is of summer and so is this. This is another vision of summer for me, the boat. I didn't get a single ride last year, so I made up for it this year and went for 2. I will be planning more trips to town as well to soak up more boat time. Did i mention that I love summer, the boat and my parents place?

I know, I have one more day to share with you, and that would be today. But it is 9:00, and I have just finished editing the pictures from my actual vacation and I have not yet thought of a picture for today. Stay tuned, it might get posted tomorrow or it might get posted tonight.

Day 45 -------------------------------------- trip to the farm

Day 45 - here is the last post before we go on vacation. I will of course be taking pictures the whole time I am up north, no worries! But for today's picture we took a side trip on the way to Brandi's parents today and went to a farm where there were COWS, Brandi knows what kind of cows these are, but I have no idea, a cow is a cow. Anyway they wanted to come right up to the truck and climb in with us. These three came right up and stood in an almost perfect formation that I had to make that today's picture. I am also still trying out my new logo!! Let me know what you think.
Side note: We went to Mr. Paperback, a local bookstore today, and I always go to the photography section (of course) I found a book today that really intrigued me. It was all pictures of people's tattoos. I have ALWAYS wanted to photograph tattoos. This was just a neat book it had their stories in it about the tattoos then a great picture of the tattoo. I would really like to do something like that, in fact I would really like to photograph tattoos and start a collection or even a separate blog about that. I also wanted to do something along those same lines, but still different, so I was thinking about starting a sock blog. With pictures of great socks. I could start with my own, but I am not sure about that one yet. But I do know about the tattoo. So here is the deal. To all my readers, I want to photograph your tattoo, also tell your friends, anyone with a tattoo of any sort. I will come to you, photograph your tattoo, give you a copy of course and post it in my tattoo blog. If this interests you e-mail me at rjmphoto@verizon.net. Make the subject "Tattoo Blog".
Until Next week, have a great photography week!!!

Day 43 & 44 ---------------------------------- Trying out a new Logo today

Day 43 - Ok its another walk photo, and its of me walking HAHA - But you will notice that I am trying out a new logo today. I am not 100% sure how I feel about it. I'm going to keep trying it out for a while and see what happens, I am still going to experiment with it and see if I can get EXACTLY what I want.

Day 44 - We are finalizing a package for some wedding clients, we received the album yesterday and are just waiting on the final prints for the thank you cards and then we will be able to present everything to the clients! Very excited.

Also, I wanted to let anyone know that tomorrow will probably be the last Project 365 for about a week. We are officially on vacation starting today and will be spending a week with my parents, but they do not have the luxury of high speed Internet, so I will be taking photos everyday, probably more than one a day....hehe, but I won't be able to post them, so when we return on Sunday of next week, we will have a HUGE post to share with you. I will post tomorrow though so you will have a little teaser before we are gone!

Day 42 ----------------- I love AMAZON!

I received a shipment from Amazon the other day, Tuesday in fact. I LOVE Amazon, I order so many photography books from there. I order a lot of books because I am mainly self taught, I have only taken one photography class, and that was back when I was in high school, and it was more on developing, (WHICH IS AWESOME) and less on the actual photography technique. My new focus is on composition and lighting, I want to get into studio light eventually, and I could always use more knowledge on composition. Come to think of it, I have done quite a bit of photography shopping recently. I was awarded some points at work that we can redeem for different things, and I went shopping in the book section and purchased 4 more books which were shipped today. I think what is even more special is I bought a NEW LENS off EBay last night. I am wicked excited. Its been a lens that I have been looking at for a while, and I wanted to give Brandi something more to practice with and use for weddings so I found on on EBay which was ending soon, so i watched and watched and watched and finally sent in a stealth bid and WON YAY! So now i have my eye open for another new lens which is the Nikor 105mm lens, I am in a conundrum on that one though because it is quite pricey, but Sigma makes one that is exactly the same but half the price, my only concern is that I have only ever bought Nikon, and I am just worried about quality, but everyone I have talked to enjoys their sigmas, so I think i might get it, and save myself almost $400. Anyway I have babbled enough, here is today's pics, my new books.

Day 40 and 41 -------------------------------- Something different and Something neat

Day 40 - It's pretty much just what the picture says, it's something different. This is the plastic guard on the top of a fence surrounding a baseball field. I think its just there so kids can jump over the fence and not tear their pants, but I could be wrong, its happened before. HA HA Day 41 - I LOVE this picture. We had a little storm in Belfast today. I was hoping to catch some lighting on my lunch break from work, but I didn't get any lighting, what I got was a BEAUTIFUL sky. I don't think the blogger upload does it justice, but it really was nature at it's best. Enjoy.

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
