Almost Forgot! We're Published

I had almost forgotten something that I was going to add to the previous post. The last wedding that we did, the Griffin Wedding was featured in the Mid Coast papers, in thier winter wedding issue! The link below will take you to the wedding issue, and our pictures and the full article are on pages 14 and 15 - a full color spread!

McNeil / Griffin Wedding!!

I am finally able to share the most recent wedding with everyone. This has been a wedding that I have been most excited to share. The bride is someone that we use to work with, so I was more then happy to be a part of thier day. What was even more exciting for me, was that it was not the typical wedding that I had done in the past. This was a MILITARY wedding. The groom is in the coast gaurd stationed right in Rockland. To add more to that, the wedding took place in the Maine Lighthouse Museum. What is great about that is the Maine Lighthouse Museum is a collection of not only lighthouse artifacts, but also coast guard artifacts! What a perfect spot for a Coast Guard wedding.

By doing this wedding we were also able to add another service to our collection. This was our first set of engagement pictures that we were able to do. I added it right into the wedding package, and it turned out to be a great idea, and everything worked out well. I think what made it even more special was that the bride and groom had an engegment picture enlarged and placed it in the entrance way of the Museum for all the guests to sign. I thought that was an excellent idea.

So the ceremony was beautiful. It was held in the actual Museun in front of a Fresnel, essentially the light house light. It was beautiful, I can not stress that enough. Another great part of the ceremony, is that they used it to unite two families together. It was a very moving ceremony where all three children plus the bride and groom too turns pouring small viles of different colored sand into one large vase. This was a symbol that they families can not be broken up because you could not seperate all the individual parts into thier seperate vials again. It was an beautiful gesture.

Overall we had a great time at the Wedding, it was great to see someone find true love. They really are in love, you can tell not only in the photos that were taken, but also in just speaking with them. We couldn't stop them from kissing in the photos there are so many pictures of them kissing on the online album. Please check out the website for the complete gallery! Let me know what you think.

Almost...

I almost got it. For a while now, I have been looking for two specif photos to add to my collection. Yesterday I was as close as I have come to getting one of the photos that I wanted.

If you are from Maine, you know the photo above, it is Mt. Katahdin, and it has been a fixture in literally my backyard for 25 years. I want to get a photo of it at sunrise and sunset. I was visiting my parents yesterday and heading home just as the sun was starting to drop. I knew it was about 20 miles for me to get into position to get this shot that I have been waiting for. Needless to say I was about 10 minutes late...I did not get the shot that I was looking for. I did get some great shots though. I am particularly happy with the shot above.

Soon to come - another wedding gallery!

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
