First Look: Wedding | A Wedding on the Land | Danny & Katie | Washington & Montville Maine

It wouldn't be a Sunday evening without a First Look at the wonderful wedding Brandi & I photographed this weekend!
Saturday was beautiful - and HOT.
It was another gorgeous weekend in Maine, and why not have a wedding with an outdoor reception!
On the Land.

Loving the signs that direct guests from the ceremony to the reception.  And coming from two people who often get lost - even with directions - the signs were a BIG help!

As much as I wanted to - I couldn't just show you the sign (even though I love it, right down to the painted heart).  I needed to post a great pic of our awesome couple!

I truly can not wait to show you the AWESOME reception.
It was an all night party I am sure!

Class of 2011 | A Beautiful Ballerina | Mikele

I was thinking back, many moons ago when I posted the first look of Mikele I used the same title "A Beautiful Ballerina" and the first thing Brandi said to me was "you should of used this photo because that way it would go with the title more."  Yup, she was probably right, but I had a title and and I ha a picture I wanted to use.  So there!

Mikele is a ballerina

With a killer smile.
A Brady fan.
A dog lover.
And just an all around AWESOME girl!
Like awesome!
No Really - AWESOME.
And smile.
Yah, smile.
There were not fake smiles here.
We couldn't take a serious picture - they just didn't look right.
Smiling is so much better!
It was so awesome to have another member of the Class of 2011 in the studio.
It is always such an honor for a senior to choose US for their senior portraits.
Let's face it, there are A LOT of studios out there.
Thank you again Mikele for choosing us.
(And finding us on facebook)
After the awesome time in the studio we moved to one of our favorite shooting locations where the light was amazing, and that smile just continued!
Ok, so I was wrong.  We got a serious pose.  And she looks beautiful even without a smile.

Yup, uh-huh.  She's awesome.

LOVE IT!
Mikele, we hope that you LOVE your senior portraits as much as we loved working with you!
We are so glad to have met you, and we wish you ALLLLL the luck with your senior year and beyond!

Wedding | One Hot July Wedding | Rob & Hannah | The Love Break

I gotta say, this post - gives me mixed emotions.
I'm happy because the couple is great, the picture are wonderful, and I am just in love with this concept that Brandi came up with.
I'm sad because this is the last post with Rob & Hannah's wedding.

See my problem?

Anyway - the much awaited Love Break!
Brandi came up with the concept - but I named it.  I'm not in love with the name - so if there are any suggestions out there let me know!
Anyway again.

Our time at the reception was drawing to a close.
Hannah & Rob were watching their guests cut a rug.  Brandi took this opportunity to grab them and bring them outside.  The rain had stopped, the sky was great - nice soft light - photographer's dream!
Awesome idea Brandi.  We always tell our clients that we want to spend some time with them right after the ceremony, just to take a breath - and love on each other a little.

Well this is another play on that concept - let's get away from the reception - laugh and joke and just be close to each other - the Bride and Groom be close to each other - they don't have to be close to us!

SO Brides & Grooms out there - we will ask you if you want to take a little break during the reception and take some shots - check out the ones below, I think you will want to say YES!

As I mentioned - the grass was wet - it had just rained.
Rob - being the gentleman that he is carried his bride - piggy back style!
I mentioned we love photographing at Morgan Hill Event Center - they have some terrific outdoor spaces.  We took Rob & Hannah to a little pergola they have set up out front - and that's where we got ALLLLL these shots!
Told yah there would be some laughs.
(Cause we're funny)
And smiles.
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Look at the smiles!
Awesome couple.
I am seeing a big ol' canvas print in your house --- hint hint :)
She knows he loves her.
Brandi's pose.  AWESOME!
More laughs - again - we're funny!
Check out the bling-age
Rob bought this for Hannah for her BIRTHDAY - yah - did I mention it was her birthday today!
Oh, and it was her something blue.
Got another wall in your house?  This would make ANOTHER great canvas print.
Just my opinion :)
Love this couple!
The end.
Sad face.

But what a wonderful couple!
Hannah & Rob, we have really enjoyed working with you on your Engagement Session and now your wedding!
We wish you both the best of luck!

Wedding | One Hot July Wedding | Rob & Hannah | Party On!

Ahhhh the reception.
The wrap up of the perfect wedding day.
What's not to love?  Good food, great fun, a little dancing and some cake.
Sounds like a good time to me!

Hannah did a little change up for the reception.
LOVE IT!
Making sure everything is perfect (pfft, it was before we got there - you can't mess with perfection, really!)
Can we have our picture taken with the ring bearer?
Um, yes please!
One lucky guy right there!
Everyone is introduced and we're all settled in.
Gotta love that cake.
But you know me.... cake = love.
The toasts are always so heartwarming.
You really never know what anyone is going to say.
And I always love the look on the bride and groom's faces when they realise that they could say anything...
And we cut that beautiful cake.
But don't smash it.
Um, I just love this shot of Hannah - just do.  Love the emotion.  What do you think?
And the dancing - second best thing about a wedding (cake is the first D'OH)
Having a little more fun with the fish eye, and Morgan Hill Event Center is the place for a fish eye let me tell ya!
Father daughter dance.
Gets me every time.
I usually have to talk myself out of crying!
And I love it when Mom cries too.
I don't like it when women cry - I more like the emotion of it.
Yah know what I mean?
And mother and son, cutting a rug!

And the dance floor is NOW OPEN!

Gather around ladies, try to catch the bouquet!
(all the single ladies, all the single ladies...ok I couldn't resist)

Again, another part of the reception where you never know what you are going to see...
Doing a little stretching before finding the garter.

Fouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnd it.
I love that she whistled to get the guys attention!
She's a girl that knows what she wants!
And finally, we close the blog with another special event...

Hannah and Rob were married on Hannah's 24th Birthday!
So there you have it.
Rob - you lucky guy - you only have to remember one date and it covers two events!!

Wait...
I'm not done yet.
There is one more installment of Hannah and Rob's blogging adventures.
But, that will have to wait for tomorrow!!

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
