You Can Climb Mountains

I know super nerdy title for this blog but regardless the words ring true. This past weekend Ryan and I took a mini vacation to visit Ryan's homeland, the great Northwoods, AKA Millinocket. As part of the planned vacation my MOH Kelly (whom you have seen on the blog before) joined us with her brother Chris to hike Mount Katahdin. We (and when I say we, it doesn't include Ryan, he was adamant that the dog needed supervision on Friday ;) ) started out early... 5am early, it has been awhile since these eyes have been wide awake at that time of day. Regardless we did it! We started our hike out at Roaring Brook (those locals out there will know the location) and then hiked into Chimney Pond. From Chimney Pond we began our hike up Cathedral trail. Let's just say after we went over that first boulder I turned and asked Kelly, "Are you sure we want to take this trail?" And of course being the super supportive friend she said "You can do it." Well we sure did and here is the view halfway up!

After continuing the 2300'climb up Cathedral trail, we finally reached the summit and what a view it was. Enjoy some great shots!

The pictures on the way down are super limited because let's face it, my dogs were barking and my knees wanted to slap me in the face for putting them through a long day of hiking but I did take a few of the trail we came up since it was right beside the gentle trail we went down. Here is a side view of Cathedral trail:

Hope you enjoyed a sneak peek into the adventure of this past weekend! We have lots to blog this week to get caught up on so please come on back!

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
