Maternity Session Posted!

And Finally - the maternity Blog you have all been waiting for! What a great time I had photographing Britney & Tim. As I had mentioned I had not seen them in quite some time, so I was so happy to photograph them before their baby was born. As an update, I photographed them on a Friday and Baby Dean was born the following Sunday!! I can't wait to photograph him! Stay Tuned.

This was also the first time I had been in their new home - a beautiful 100+ year old Victorian. LOVE IT!
Composing this shot gave me a little trouble - trying to get the lighting right, overall I think it came out well.

Such a cute couple!

LOVE THIS PICTURE! This might be my favorite of the shoot. When Britney was giving me a tour of the house, I knew this was going to be a fantastic shot...LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!

The one thing I love about Britney is she is always prepared, before I arrived she had the majority of the shoot planned out. I love working with a couple who know what they want. Britney loved this sweater that was handmade for the baby and she wanted a shot where she was showing it to Tim. Tim was a good sport and played along!

How cute is this shot? Britney planned this out at as well, and I am totally stealing it and doing it again for another couple.

Can't you just feel the love? I don't know if I like the pose more, or if I like the black and white more...either way - LOVE IT!
Hope you enjoyed this experience as much as I loved photographing it.

Potential New Project!

Now for a trip down memory lane: Many of you know, but some probably don't - I got my start in photography taking pictures of local high school sport for a local newspaper in my home town - oh how I miss those days. It was the perfect job for a high school student - I got to get into the games for free, I got to talk to everyone (I was a reporter too) I had the inside scoop on everything - it was great! Back then I shot with only film - again, those were the days. Last week I was asked to get back into sports photography by a very dear friend. Of course I was happy to do it. Over all I am not 100% pleased with the results, because while my camera is fabulous and I love it, it does have its limitations with sports photography...but if the tax man is good to me.....I may be the proud owner of a brand new Nikon D700.....ahhh...

But anyway without further delay....Old Town High School vs. Central!

Yes, you may realise that all of these pictures feature the same player - her mother was of course the one who commissioned me, and I have her permission to publish pictures of her. For any other fans out there - there are plenty more photos of the game I attended. If 1) you see your child on the blog and you do not approve of having the picture out there, please contact me and I will absolutely remove it or 2) if you would like to see the rest of the photos from the game, please e-mail me at ryan@rjmoorephotography.com and I will send you the password and directions on viewing the gallery.
Hope you enjoy!!

Liberty Volunteer Fire Department

Last week I had a great opportunity to increase my skills in portrait photography and help out a great organization. I was hired to take head shots for the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department. They wanted to hang the photographs in the fire house and I was more then happy to join them for their meeting and photograph the men and women who protect the town of Liberty everyday. It was a great meeting that they had, it was more then a meeting it was a year end award ceremony and to hear the amazing things that the group had to say to one another was great. It was truly a brotherhood - this is an organization of people who work a full time job and still make the time to serve the town of Liberty. They are a great group of people and I can not say enough good things about them. It was a pleasure to be a part of that meeting and I look forward to helping them again in any way possible.

Where have I been?

Wow - it has been a long time since I have updated anything on the Blog - shame on me. I don't know where the time has gone. Brandi and I had a great Christmas and New Years - it is always good to spend time with family and friends. The New Year has also brought a long a new work schedule for me - so that is partially the reason for a lack of blogging and photo taking - that is all about to change though. I have finally invested in some preliminary studio equipment!! YAY ME! So now I have to practice - a LOT. So please be prepared to see my mug on this BLOG A LOT - because I have no other victims but myself. My apologies in advance.

Lets see - Wedding season will be starting soon too. I have one coming up in about a month - on Valentines Day actually. I will also be soliciting your help soon to help me pick out an advertisement. You may have seen me on Village Soup last year. I am going to try a little more targeted marketing this year and go with a Wedding Supplement in the local papers. More details on that shortly - I will let you know when the advertisement you choose is going to be in the paper. We have also been thinking more and more about going to a Bridal Show. There are several in the area, and we have always been a little shy about going to one because we just started an "office" we were afraid we wouldn't have enough "stuff" to fill a whole booth. Brandi and I went to a bridal show this weekend to check out the competition....we are sooooooo ready. So we will probably be appearing in a bridal show in the near future.

Stay tuned for some studio work - and if you want to get into the studio let me know!
I'll be posting more information on that soon - when I get the bugs worked out of everything.

Thanks for being patient with me!!

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
