Life Update

Ok - i know its been forever since i posted a blog, but things have been CRAZY. First of all, we finally moved into the new house, which we OWN - like bought own - yes its true, everything went through and we are all painted and in, so that is a big stress that is off my plate. Soon I should be posting before and after pictures of our paint job - and I must say we did a GREAT job both painting and picking out colors. Secondly, real work has been crazy, i pretty much have a handle on my new role and will be venturing out on my own shortly, so that is a huge load off too. For the business things have been picking up as well. This next weekend is going to be crazy with a wedding, family photo shoot and a client meeting. Also I have been backed up on editing, i still have a wedding to post, a senior shoot and my first attempt at corporate head shots, hopefully that will be all up this week. The reason that I am hoping it will be up this week is because I am going to be on vacation. We are off to north conway new hampshire tomorrow where we will be close to the fryeburg fair, one of brandi's favorite agricultural fairs. So i will be off for a week and have plenty of time to get those pictures done. Plus there should be tons of pics from NH and the fair. Then there is the issue of project 365 - i am SOOO behind and I have to admit that i missed a few days. I am going to post what I have then try to pick up where i left off. I am very disappointed in myself that I didn't take a pic everyday, but I am going to make it up to myself.

Lets see, I can't think of anything else I need to update, just keep watching over the next week for some photo shoots to come out!!

BIG Update!!

Guess What? We have finally launched our new website. I have been dreaming of this site for so long and it is finally a reality. The site went live today and I will of course still be working on it, but there are a lot of changes that we are making to the business that this site is helping us do. First of all we have a new logo, and I am very happy with it FINALLY. We also have client proofing right on the website now, so after your prints are done you will be given a password and you can view your photos anytime you want in the comfort of your own home. Also you will now be choosing the photos for your album right on the website as well. Another great enhancement we will be doing is offering credit card payments on the website as well. That feature is not working currently but it will be up soon and there will be a blog on that too!! Let see what else is new - EVERYTHING, I am so excited for this. Please go check out the new site and let me know what you think.

Another thing that has been updated - our pricing. Check out the website it does have all the new pricing on it. For clients that have already confirmed their date they will get the pricing that they booked with. If you booked your wedding with us and the package is more then the current price you will have the choice of choosing the new pricing and package or I will make sure you get all the extras possible to give you what you want. Please contact me if you have any questions at all. I have been thinking about you and I think you will be happy with what we have in store for you.

A couple other updates: I should be FINALLY posting the first look of the wedding from this past weekend on the blog soon. I should also be getting P365 up soon too, I know I fell behind again. Also we have a senior portrait shoot this weekend, so that will be up in the next few days as well.

Life Update -

I know, I had a huge P365 post and then nothing since then....SORRY. Things have gotten really busy really quickly recently. Brandi and I had a great wedding last night, and I know we got some excellent pictures from that. I should be posting a "First Look" soon (yes I am going to start calling my ""Previews" "First Looks" now), so anyway I should have one of those soon. So this is the only wedding we have this month, but I have also purchased a new website so I will be dedicating a lot of time to getting that up and running so I can begin offering a variety of new services to my clients just because of what the website offers. Awesome huh? Because of the new services and options that I have with the website I will probably be redesigning the pricing structure that I have as well, please don't worry I think you will be pleasantly surprised and this doesn't change anything for the current clients that have already reserved wedding dates. Let's see, what else - oh yeah - Fall semester has begun. I am taking two classes this semester and I think they are both going to kick my butt. The first one is an online class on databases and database creation, and the second one is on investment analysis - both are going to be intense, but I guess that's what you get in your final semester for your Masters degree. So lets see, website, wedding, redesign, and class - what am I forgetting, OH YAH - starting new responsibilities in my full time job tomorrow. I will be learning a completely new side of a business tomorrow so that is going to take up a lot of time during the day. Also the home purchase should be coming to a close this month as well, in fact it should be closing in the next two weeks. So that's my stress for September. Lets not forget October where I will be going on vacation the photographing back to back weddings plus a few family shoots in between and setting up our home office. Plus school, new job and adjusting to home ownership.

So I think that about covers it for my updates, like I said things are going to be busy over the next couple of months, but I will defiantly be in touch.

Day 108 & 109 -------------------All the posts I have been missing

Ok Please forgive me, I have been very slackin' with the project 365 posts. If you scroll down 2 more posts you will get the beginning of the posts I have missed. I hope this extra large post makes up for the amount of time where I missed the posts.

Day 108 - My mother called us from the car to let us know that the sunset was great coming up the road into the house, so i went out back to see if I could catch it and this is what I got. I think the sunset she saw was much better, but this is still pretty great!
Day 109 - Ok I can't stop it anymore, fall is coming. The leaves are changing - SAD.

Day 103-107 ---------------------- They are Still coming.

Day 103 - A fresh summer squash from the garden! Not ours haha.
Day 104 - I think this is a pretty cool shot of the Maple tree out front, with of course LENS FLARE!!!
Day 105 - A weird shot of the basil I am growing, underneath a lamp on the table. I think its pretty neat.
Day 106 - OH MY GOODNESS, today was the first day we arrived at my parents, and my mother had CHEX MIX. She makes the best chex mix, better then any other out there, better then the bag from the store, better then any other mom's. LOVE IT.
Day 107 - My pretty lady sitting on a rock by the river. This is the cribworks on the west branch of the Penobscot river north of my parents place. Its a beautiful spot. I plan on taking my brother and his fiancee here to do some engagement photos. Can't WAIT!

Day 98-102 ---------------------- Yet another Post

Day 98 - Here is the inside of my camera bag. I have been meaning to do a blog all about my camera bag and the equipment that I have in my bag to travel to all my photo shoots. Something to look forward too!
Day 99 - This is a pretty inspirational picture. This is a shot of the backyard of the house I am living in now after CMP has traveled through the yard cutting branches from the power lines.
DAY 100 - WHAT A GREAT DAY!!! And I didn't even plan our trip to the fair on day 100, but it made for a great photo for today and a great shoot earlier in the blog. Enjoy!
Day 101 - My beautiful girl in the corn field in her parents garden. I love that smile.
Day 102 - I have to share this book with everyone. I am learning so much from it and I think all aspiring photographers, all self-taught photographers and all pros should read this book!

Day 93- 97 ------- I am catching up finally!

Day 93 - This is my hand in phase 10. Had I posted this back on day 93 I might be able to tell you a little more about what happened that day, but at least its posted!!
Day 94 - Here is the family from the recent family shoot that we did, you saw all the photos from this shoot wayyyyyyyyyyy before today!!

Day 95 - Ok so this isn't a spectacular photo, but its kind of neat. Anyway that's me, in the mirror. More importantly you will notice I have changed the logo. I have created one that I actually really like, so you will be seeing everything updated to this logo in the near future.

Day 96 - Aren't these neat? I was buying stamps for the business the other day and I could choose these, so I thought I would add a little whimsy to my mailings.

Day 97 - Here is a view of the back of the house that we are purchasing!! YAY! More to come on that in the next few weeks, and of course I will do a photo tour before and after we paint!

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say 'Thank you', 'I love you', and 'Great job' to someone each day. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Take time for yourself - plan for longivity.
